Where to find your My Clippings.txt file
Connect your Kindle with the USB cable
The Kindle shows up as a regular drive: under «This PC» on Windows, in the Finder on Mac. If it doesn't appear, check the Kindle's screen and tap «Connect» when it asks.
Open the documents folder
Inside you'll see My Clippings.txt. It's a plain text file where your Kindle records every highlight and note you make in any book — bought on Amazon or not.

Your highlights appear instantly, organized by book. Nothing travels over the internet: the file is read inside your browser.
