Everything happens in your browser: your notes never touch our server unless you choose to email the book.

How it reaches your Kindle

  1. Approve our sender at Amazon (first time only)

    Amazon only delivers documents from senders you have approved, and it discards everything else without telling you — no bounce, no error message. Add this address to your approved list:

    send@books.getsapiens.com

    Open your Amazon document settings Once there: Preferences → Personal Document Settings → Approved Personal Document E-mail List → Add a new approved e-mail address.

    Buy from a different Amazon store? Open the same page on yours — amazon.co.uk, amazon.es, amazon.com.mx and the rest all have it.

  2. Copy your own @kindle.com address

    It's on that same Amazon screen, under «Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings». Each device has its own, shaped like name_123@kindle.com. This is your Kindle's address, not the email you sign in to Amazon with.

  3. Paste, send, sync

    Paste your text above, enter your @kindle.com address and hit send. With your Kindle on wifi, the book lands in your library within a couple of minutes.

Several notes, one book — without installing anything in your vault

The usual route from Obsidian to a Kindle is a community plugin that posts your notes to somebody's backend. This is a page instead: choose the notes, get the book. Each note becomes a chapter titled by its filename, in the order you picked them, and the EPUB is assembled in the tab — your vault is not indexed, not synced, not uploaded, and nothing is added to it.

  • Choose as many .md files as you like: the picker takes a multi-selection, and each note becomes one chapter.
  • Chapter titles come from the filenames, so the book's contents read the way your vault does.
  • Keeps headings, lists, quotes, bold and code. Wikilinks stay as the text they are, and embeds, images and tables are dropped.
  • Works with any folder of Markdown, not only Obsidian: Logseq, Bear, iA Writer, a git repo of notes.
  • No plugin, no vault access, no account — and the notes never leave the tab unless you email the book.

How do I pick notes out of my vault?

Click the file button and navigate to your vault — it is an ordinary folder of .md files. Select several with Cmd/Ctrl-click or Shift-click, or drag them onto the page.

In what order do the chapters come out?

The order the picker hands them over, which is normally alphabetical by filename. Prefix names with 01-, 02- if you want a particular reading order.

What happens to wikilinks, embeds and tags?

They come through as the text they are: a wikilink stays visible as text, an embed does not pull in the file it points at, and tags are just words. Images and tables are dropped.

Does it read my whole vault?

No. It only ever sees the files you pick, inside the browser. There is no vault access, no sync, and nothing installed.

Can I send a month of daily notes as one book?

That is the good use of it: select the dailies, get a book, and read your own month back on the device.
