Send anything to your Kindle, turned into a book
Paste text or Markdown — a ChatGPT answer, a report, your notes — and get a chaptered EPUB. Download it, or send it straight to your Kindle.
Download the EPUB
For USB transfer, Calibre, or Amazon's «Send to Kindle» app.
The EPUB is built in your browser: your text never touches our server unless you choose to email it.
How it reaches your Kindle
Approve our sender at Amazon (first time only)
Amazon only delivers documents from senders you have approved, and it discards everything else without telling you — no bounce, no error message. Add this address to your approved list:
send@books.getsapiens.comOpen your Amazon document settings Once there: Preferences → Personal Document Settings → Approved Personal Document E-mail List → Add a new approved e-mail address.
Buy from a different Amazon store? Open the same page on yours — amazon.co.uk, amazon.es, amazon.com.mx and the rest all have it.
Copy your own @kindle.com address
It's on that same Amazon screen, under «Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings». Each device has its own, shaped like name_123@kindle.com. This is your Kindle's address, not the email you sign in to Amazon with.
Paste, send, sync
Paste your text above, enter your @kindle.com address and hit send. With your Kindle on wifi, the book lands in your library within a couple of minutes.
Text, Markdown, .docx or .html — bound as an EPUB your Kindle accepts
Amazon's Send to Kindle takes files. It has nothing to say about the three paragraphs you actually want to read tonight, which is how most people end up in Calibre. This page does the missing step: it wraps what you paste into a real EPUB — a title, an author, chapters, a navigable table of contents — and then either hands you the file or emails it to your device. No app, no browser extension, no account.
- Takes plain text, Markdown, .docx (Word, Google Docs, Pages) and .html — pasted in or uploaded.
- Each # heading becomes a chapter, so the Kindle's table of contents, progress bar and «time left in chapter» all work.
- Keeps bold, lists, quotes, inline code and code blocks. Italics, links, images and tables are dropped: this is a text pipeline, not a page renderer.
- Works with any Kindle that has a Send-to-Kindle address — Paperwhite, Colorsoft, Scribe, Oasis, the basic Kindle, Fire tablets and the Kindle app.
- Or download the EPUB and move it across yourself, by USB, Calibre, or Amazon's own app.
Sending your own files to a Kindle: the usual questions
Is it really free, and do I need an account?
Free, and no account. Downloading the EPUB has no limit at all — it never leaves your machine. Emailing it to a Kindle is capped at five books an hour from the same connection, which is there to stop the endpoint being used as a mail relay, not to sell you an upgrade.
Do I need Amazon's Send to Kindle app, Calibre or a browser extension?
None of them. The EPUB is built by this page and delivered to the address Amazon already assigned your device, so nothing is installed on your computer or on your Kindle.
I sent it and nothing arrived on my Kindle. What went wrong?
Nearly always the approved-sender list. Amazon discards documents from addresses you have not approved and tells nobody — no bounce, no error message. Add our sender (step 1 above) and send again. If it is already approved, check the Kindle is on wifi and give it a couple of minutes.
Where do I find my @kindle.com address?
On Amazon, under Manage Your Content and Devices → Preferences → Personal Document Settings, in the «Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings» block. Every device has its own, shaped like name_123@kindle.com. It is not the email address you sign in to Amazon with.
Does my text get uploaded to a server?
Only if you choose the email. Parsing and EPUB generation happen inside your browser; when you ask us to send it, the finished file passes through our server once to be mailed, and is not stored afterwards.
Can I send a PDF this way?
Not on this page — the PDF to Kindle tool does it properly: it reads the PDF's text and rebuilds it as a chaptered EPUB whose type resizes. You can also email the PDF to your own @kindle.com address with «convert» in the subject, which Amazon reflows for you, but without the chapters.
What about a web article, or a URL?
Not here: this page takes text and files, not links. Copy the article's text in and it becomes a book like anything else.
Like the tools? Wait until it writes you a course.
These are free because they're the easy part. The product turns a topic into a course you'd actually read — and sends it to the same Kindle.
